Guitar and other strings
Presentation
This album collects nine acousmatic compositions performed in premiere with the acousmonium
AUDIOR as part of the concert series 'Guitar and other strings', held in 2013 and 2014 in the
Nineteenth-Century Hall of Sforza Castle of Galliate (Italy).
Based on the sounds of acoustic and electric guitar and ‘other strings' instruments (theorbo,
psaltery bow, violin, Đàn Tranh, Guzheng), all the compositions have in common the intent to
move the boundary between sound and noise, to consider all existent and imaginable sounds
potentially suitable for the artistic creation.
AUDIOR acousmonium
Designed and built in 2012 by Eraldo Bocca, the acousmonium AUDIOR currently consists of a
total of 54 speakers (among full range and “colored”) and 44 amps, has one analog console
spatialization of 32 channels and three 16-channel digital consoles. Some of the speakers
full-range are modular and can be assembled in such a way that can adapt to different
configurations. The speakers “colored” have different types in order to play the best audio
range which they are intended. In particular, the speakers for the mid-range are of dipolar type,
to take advantage of the emission reflected back from the walls of the concert hall, while the
speakers for the high frequency are hyperbolic horns that allow a great deal of pressure and
linearity of issue.

Questo album raccoglie nove composizioni acusmatiche eseguite in prima assoluta con
l’acusmonium AUDIOR nell’ambito del ciclo di concerti 'Chitarra e altre corde', tenutisi nel
2013 e nel 2014 nella Sala Ottocentesca del Castello Sforzesco di Galliate (Italia). Basate
su suoni di chitarra acustica ed elettrica e di altri strumenti a corda (hurdy-gurdy, tiorba,
salterio ad arco, violino, Đàn Tranh, Guzheng), tutte le composizioni hanno in comune
l'intento di spostare il confine tra suono e rumore, fino a considerare tutti i suoni esistenti
e immaginabili potenzialmente idonei per la creazione artistica.
Acusmonium AUDIOR
Progettato e realizzato nel 2012 da Eraldo Bocca, l’acusmonium AUDIOR è costituito attualmente
da un totale di 54 diffusori (fra banda intera e “colorati”) e 44 amplificatori, dispone di una
consolle di spazializzazione analogica di 32 canali e di tre consolle digitali da 16 canali. Alcuni
degli altoparlanti a banda intera sono modulari e assemblabili in modo da poter essere adattati a
diverse configurazioni. I diffusori “colorati” hanno tipologie diverse al fine di riprodurre al meglio
la gamma audio cui sono destinati. In particolare, i diffusori per la gamma media sono di tipo
dipolare per sfruttare anche l’emissione posteriore riflessa dalle pareti della sala da concerto,
mentre i diffusori per gli alti sono trombe iperboliche che permettono una grande pressione e
linearità di emissione.
