Exrotic has been generated from manipulated VHS tapes of Italian erotic and exotic genre films from the 70s. The sonic traces gathered from these aging audiovisual tapes, television imagery, contemporary electronics and techniques, becomes the means with which to interrogate how the entangled ubiquity and disappearance of technological devices constantly reconfigures the media panorama. As Exrotic rummages through the convergence of art, music and cinema, it places archival memory, media obsolescence and an archaeology of the future at the heart of its auditory research, revealing a poetics of reality through material processes.

andreaborghi.com Andrea Borghi (1974 Pietrasanta, Lucca) is a sound artist and electro-acoustic composer. His work focuses on the relationship between sound and matter. His practice is based on oriented and multidisciplinary research processes, and includes sculptural objects, installations, obsolete media and electronics. In the series named “Discomateria” he resorts to the use of glass, resin, metal and, more recently, marble as primary substrate for the production of sounds with a growing body of graphic/sculptural works. Tactility is something he has been exploring in his music over the course
of his entire career, creating organic auditory experiences for the listeners.
